At eighteen, Lin Sainan is sentenced to five years for injuring a loan shark, Wu Lao'er, while defending her father. Upon release, she finds her home seized, her mother mentally broken, and the Wu family relentlessly sabotaging her. With support from Lu Haiyan, a friend from prison, she opens an embroidery shop, but the Wu family spreads rumors, cuts off supplies, and turns the village against her. At her lowest, she learns Lu Haiyan, terminally ill, has left her a fortune. Sainan builds an embroidery workshop, exposes the Wu family's crimes of arson and usury, and brings them to justice.
