In the early years of the Republic of China, a series of eerie events unfold in the南洋 region. The story follows Zhang Haiyan and Zhang Haixia, two secret agents of the Southern Archives, as they investigate a mysterious case and uncover a conspiracy by warlords to spread poison using the deadly plant Dusk Grass. During their investigation, the duo faces life-and-death trials, and Zhang Haixia is even left paralyzed. As clues gradually come to light, Zhang Haiyan discovers that all leads point to a massive ship, the Nan'an. This drama is adapted from the novel of the same name by Nan Pai San Shu.
