Zhang Xuanqing, heir of the Celestial Master's Mansion, is "exiled" down the mountain by his master to accumulate karma. On his very first day in the mortal world, he's arrested as a murder suspect. He promptly summons the victim's soul to prove his innocence—and from then on becomes the police department's specially appointed "paranormal consultant." Talismans track down killers, silver needles subdue criminals, and Taoist arts run rampant through the modern city. Until he catches the attention of the dark force known as the Raksha Hall. When a cursed doll abducts the female cop by his side, and his master urges him to succeed as Celestial Master, Zhang Xuanqing grips his last golden talisman. "Touch my people? Have you forgotten—Taoist priests subdue demons, and we never draw lines at national borders." Tonight at midnight, a cross-sea manhunt—one talisman settles everything.
