Yan Rong, a billionaire female CEO, is secretly plotted against by her husband of three years, Lin Shen, who schemes to steal her vast fortune. Poisoned and thrown from a high-rise, she survives but her vocal cords are damaged, leaving her unable to speak. To escape those hunting her, Yan Rong ends up on the streets, hiding in fear and reduced to life as a beggar woman. At her lowest, she is rescued by Huo Xu, the chairman of Wanchen Group, who has concealed his identity to devote himself to caring for his family. Huo Xu, also unable to speak, deeply sympathizes with Yan Rong in her misfortune and takes her in at the restaurant of his kind, honest father, Huo Jianmin. His stepmother, Li Yun, is stingy and petty, determined to leave the restaurant to her own biological son, and despises Yan Rong for being mute, tormenting her in every possible way. To protect Yan Rong, Huo Xu enters into a sham marriage with her. Meanwhile, Yan Rong's friend Lü Feifei seizes the chance while Yan Rong is missing to collude with Yan Rong's ex-husband, announce her death, and take over the Feimu Group for themselves. Left with nothing, Yan Rong decides to use her business experience to start a company with Huo Xu's cousin, Fang Ping. Huo Xu, as chairman of Wanchen Group, avoids revealing his identity and instead entrusts his assistant Jiang Yan to secretly help Yan Rong expand her business. Yan Rong's friend Tan Ying invites her to serve as CEO of Shengshi Group. Yan Rong uses the lure of a new-energy project on a plot in the southern suburbs to trick Feimu Group into spending heavily to buy that land, while the project's actual site is in the west of the city, causing Feimu Group devastating losses. Huo Xu publicly announces Yuanchen Group's resort development project. Feimu Group bribes the project director of Yuanchen Group, determined to win the bid, but is exposed at the bid opening and loses its chance to bid, leaving Feimu Group with no hope of recovery. To cure Huo Xu, Yan Rong seeks out a renowned doctor to perform surgery on him, and Huo Xu finally speaks again. Yan Rong takes the initiative to approach Huo Xu's birth mother, resolving the years of estrangement and childhood trauma between Huo Xu and his mother. The two complete a journey of mutual salvation, develop feelings for each other, and ultimately come together.
