In 1457, at Cheongnyeongpo, a doomed guardianship and a friendship that would be remembered forever. The young king Yi Hong-wi (Park Ji-hoon), forced to abdicate, is exiled. Meanwhile, Eom Heung-do (Ryu Hae-jin), the village head of Gwangcheon Valley, a remote mountain village in Yeongwol, Gangwon-do, strives to turn Cheongnyeongpo into a place of exile for the sake of his struggling villagers. However, when the exiled Yi Hong-wi finally arrives, the village head, tasked with monitoring his daily life, finds himself increasingly concerned about the king who has lost his will to live.
