The Blue Boy Incident

Set against the backdrop of Japan's rapid economic growth, when the Tokyo Olympics and Osaka Expo heralded an era of prosperity, this story unfolds as society strides toward internationalization and prostitution controls tighten. In a bid to eliminate the so-called 'Blue Boys'—individuals who have undergone gender reassignment surgery—the prosecution moves to arrest Dr. Akagi Masao, the surgeon who performed their operations. Meanwhile, Saki, a waitress at a Tokyo café, has just received a marriage proposal and is basking in happiness. Until one day, lawyer Kano Taku, tasked with defending Akagi in court, approaches Saki, asking her to testify as someone who has undergone gender reassignment surgery.
