The story begins with a whistleblower letter exposing a politician's misconduct. Hoshino Matsuri (played by Kuroki Haru), the daughter of the ruling party's secretary-general and also his secretary, secretly investigates the truth but is disowned by her father, losing her job and home, and her life plummets to rock bottom. At her wit's end, she meets Tsukigata Akari (played by Noro Kayo), a cheerful bar mama with no political experience. A sudden Tokyo gubernatorial election sparks Matsuri's idea to push this political novice to run. These two women, vastly different in background and personality, join forces, fighting side by side in an election campaign woven with power struggles and public opinion, embarking on a tear-jerking, heartwarming, and unconventional electoral entertainment story.
