The Gift

Set against the backdrop of wheelchair rugby, this drama follows the reclusive genius astrophysicist Tetsubumi Gotō (played by Takuya Tsumura), who unexpectedly encounters the struggling team the Blazing Bulls, coached by his cousin. The team has long been winless and riddled with conflicts, yet he sees their myriad problems as the most intriguing puzzle, boasting he can lead them to victory. From not knowing the rules to diving deep into the sport, he gradually breaks through tactical and interpersonal barriers, clashing and connecting with his teammates, and begins to confront the wounds of his own isolated, closed-off life. This is a passionate tale of bonds, understanding, and rebirth.
