After her husband passes away, 50-year-old Minato Minato (played by Hiromi Nagasaku) raises her son alone, only to lose her purpose in life when he moves out. Lost and uncertain, she stumbles into a three-month intensive sushi chef academy. Facing the stern, sushi-obsessed male instructor Oedo Kaimi (played by Kenichi Matsuyama) and a colorful cast of classmates, Minato fumbles her way back into a rhythm, gradually discovering what it means to live for herself. Meanwhile, her relationship with the instructor who always clashes with her quietly shifts, and a late-blooming adult romance unfolds before she knows it.
