Based on the book "Meiji's Nightingale: The Story of Ozeki Kazu" by Tanaka Hikaru, this drama depicts the true experiences of Ozeki Kazu, Japan's first professional nurse, and Suzuki Yae, as they work to establish a nurse registration system and create a visiting nursing association to combat epidemics. In the 18th year of Meiji, Japan's first nurse training school was established. Ichinose Rin (played by Miu Arai), who became a single mother under tragic circumstances, and Naomi Oe (played by Juri Kamisaka), who was abandoned as a child and raised under the protection of the church, meet by fate at this school. Together with their classmates, they receive nursing education that is still in its infancy, pondering what nursing is and what it means to face patients. After graduation, Rin and Naomi each face setbacks, including being dismissed from their posts and getting involved in incidents, but when cholera and dysentery ravage the land, they join forces once again to confront the plague.
