Unrequited Love

Yui (played by Ashida Mana) and Kenken (Kenji, played by Okayama Amane) live next door to each other in a traditional shopping street in Morioka. Yui lives with her mother, who works at a Nanbu ironware shop, while Kenken's family consists of his father, who runs a tofu shop, his grandmother, and himself. The two grew up close enough to chat from their bedroom windows. Kenken, who is good at drawing, graduated from the University of Tokyo and now works at a small design company. To Yui, Kenken, a few years older, has always been the object of her long-held unrequited love—gentle, considerate, with a charming smile, and being with him always fills her with happiness.
