Fengxia (Joan Chen), a 53-year-old Chinese immigrant, has spent most of her life in Montreal, Canada, bound by the roles of wife, mother, and immigrant: a loveless marriage, a family to care for, and the squeeze between two cultures have made her live up to everyone else's expectations while suppressing her true self. That is, until she meets Camille (Charlotte Aubin), a vibrant young Quebecois woman, and an unexpected intimacy awakens desires and longings she has buried for years.
