Jiangnan: Twelve Festive Gatherings

Yanghua Theatre is set to produce the crossover variety show "Jiangnan: Twelve Festive Gatherings," bringing together around 100 amateurs from across the country to Suzhou's Wujiang district. Over a six-month immersive program, participants will delve into traditional Chinese culture, with courses spanning ethics, law, aesthetics, folk customs, and performing arts. Guided by veteran actors and cultural mentors, they will be nurtured into a new breed of performers for the entertainment industry. Outstanding trainees may earn roles in Yanghua's annual grand production, "Jiangnan: Twelve Festive Gatherings," premiering in October, portraying historical figures like Tang Yin and Ji Cheng, and showcasing the essence of Jiangnan—from Wujiang's textile and silk heritage to its culinary delights, Suzhou garden aesthetics, and the cultural resonance of Chuihong Bridge. This theatrical tapestry celebrates the profound richness of Chinese culture.
