Fowl Play: The Essence-Draining Inn

Failed scholar Lu Wenchuan tries to cross Sunset Ridge, but the innkeeper, Niu Erniang, tells him the rule: the mist on the ridge lures men to drain their essence and die, so he must first be drained by her to pass safely. Lu Wenchuan resists and sneaks away, only to be bought off by a tough man, Zhao Tieshan, for some "thought work." Niu Erniang uses drugged incense to plunge him into a fantasy of beautiful women; when he wakes, he finds she is forcibly draining him, and at last he walks tearfully into the mist.
