Hatching on the Snowy Mountain

The heavy snow seals off the mountain. A pregnant white snake, desperate to protect the young inside her, refuses to fight back as a flock of eagles savagely pecks at her. Her scales are torn apart, and her life hangs by a thread. Old Chen, passing by, sees this and, risking his own life, swings a rusted woodcutter's knife to drive the eagles away. After escaping death, the old man shifts from initial terror to deep awe—he realizes the giant snake would rather die than surrender, all to protect her child. This maternal love across species moves the lonely old man, and he lowers his guard and his weapon. In the wind and snow, one man and one snake form a silent pact, opening the curtain on redemption and repayment.
