The Fake Pregnancy Scandal

After marrying Zhang Chaojie, Fang Ning has a daughter, Yuanyuan, but endures years of extortion from her son-preferring mother Ma Cuilan and brother Fang Jiabao, who also abuse her grandmother. Her husband cheats with mistress Jiang Xiaorou and forces Fang Ning to divorce. Though a formidable businesswoman, her mother-in-law Xu Hongying treats Fang Ning like her own daughter. Jiang Xiaorou fakes a pregnancy, steals confidential documents, and even tries to trigger Xu Hongying's fatal asthma attack with aspirin. Fang Ning exposes the scheme in time, and Jiang Xiaorou goes to prison. In the end, Fang Ning divorces Zhang Chaojie, becomes best friends with her mother-in-law, and starts a new life with Yuanyuan and her grandmother.
