Rural Romance: The Seductive Wife Xiuyun

The summers in this northeastern village are hot and endless—and the days when her husband is away feel even longer. Xie Xiuyun is thirty, her body still soft, but her eyes have already learned to size up the men around her. A volunteer teacher, the village chief's disabled son, her father-in-law, a fish farmer, a lame man... men of every station in the village walk into her life one after another. What begins as lonely, passive transactions gradually turns into deliberate indulgence. Her blue dress stays on, but beneath her skirt her body has long since been filled by different hands and different desires. The truest face of rural romance was never the petty gossip of daily life—it is a woman who, caught between desire and self-interest, slowly turns herself into what the villagers call a "loose woman." Episode one is only the beginning; the road of descent is still long.
