A Golden Scale Is No Pond Creature

Hou Longtao, once a streetwise hustler, returns with force after making a fortune abroad. His former slacker image is torn to shreds as he opens fire on three battlefields at once: business, career, and romance. Beside a luxury car in the night, he faces off with an intellectual beauty in a tailored suit, his aura utterly transformed. Power and desire swell in tandem; the women around him shift from playthings to allies, and from allies to more secret possessions. The golden scale leaves the pond—no longer a creature confined to it. As his commercial empire expands, he also conquers territory in body and emotion.
