Lotus Through the Years

After her rebirth, senior sister Wanwan pushes Suisui off a cliff and takes her place as the fourth young lady of the Zhenbei Marquis household. Suisui survives the fall and is rescued by the Crown Prince and General Shen Beizhan. Recognized by the Emperor through her lotus birthmark, she is adopted as his goddaughter and made a princess. Wanwan tries to buy loyalty by giving her body to her senior brother, the estate guards, and a Ministry of War official, but she can never secure true devotion. At a palace banquet, enemies meet face to face, and Suisui brings witnesses and evidence to confront Wanwan before the court. Three rounds of interrogation expose that Wanwan has no birthmark and is in fact a reborn soul; she is thrown into death row to be executed after the autumn assizes. Suisui returns to the Marquis household in honor and marries Shen Beizhan. Only after all is settled do they truly open their hearts and give themselves to each other.
