The Conjuring 4: The Final Chapter
Set in 1986, five years after the events of The Conjuring 3, Ed and Lorraine Warren have officially retired from demonology after Ed suffered a heart attack during a haunting case. They still give lectures at universities, but even those opportunities are dwindling. However, certain events eventually draw them back into the fray. This time, the core case is one of the most famous in the Warrens' career: the Smurl family haunting. According to the New England Society for Psychic Research (run by Ed and Lorraine's real-life daughter Judy and son-in-law Tony Spera), in the 1970s, Janet and Jack Smurl moved into a duplex on Chase Street in West Pittston, Pennsylvania. Over the following years, family members, including their daughters and Jack's parents, claimed to have experienced supernatural phenomena, ranging from strange odors and sounds to ghostly harassment.
