Chang Sheng, a police sergeant at Huacheng Station, faces a dual crisis in his career and personal life: after his hopes for a promotion to deputy station chief are dashed, his long-standing marriage with his wife Zhou Ying also comes to an end. At this time, the resident officer at Dongzhai Station, Old Sun, dies suddenly from illness while on duty, so Chang Sheng chooses to exile himself and takes over the post at this remote station. Upon arriving at Dongzhai, he is overwhelmed by frequent cargo thefts and the various difficulties caused by local villagers.
